In school we use to discuss the climate zone's, and how America has most of the major climate zones. I'm wondering what is the first city that comes to mind when you think of said climate zone. Here are my thoughts on the matter.

Humid Sub-Tropical: Birmingham AL
Humid Continental Warm-Summers: Indianapolis IN
Humid Continental Cool-Summers: Portland ME
Semi-Arid Subtropical: Albuquerque NM
Semi-Arid Continental: Billings MT
Hot Arid: Phoenix AZ
Highlands: Flagstaff AZ (Debatable) No real major city in the highlands
Mediterranean: San Jose CA
Marine Oceanic: Seattle WA
Tropical wet/dry: Honolulu HI
Sub-Arctic: Fairbanks AK

Humid Continental Warm-Summers is probably Chicago not Indianapolis, because Chicago has coldest month below -3'C.

Perhaps. Although I think Indianapolis is still slightly more extreme overall due to Summer temps.
