View Poll Results: Which is better, Continental or subarctic climate zones
Both suck, but if I absolutely had to pick, I would pick the Continental zone, it’s the lesser of two evils 14 66.67%
I would not pick either one if someone paid me a million dollars, both are unlivable trash climates 1 4.76%
I would choose subarctic- continental climate zones are too hot for my liking 2 9.52%
Alternative opinions(please feel free to explain why) 4 19.05%

I would say that it depends upon the specific climate type. I personally find most Dfb and Dfc climates to be relatively pleasant. The most perfect climate in the world (in my opinion) is St. John's Labrador/Newfoundland and it's a transitional Dfb/Dfc.

I like subarctic climates with a continental feel (Dfc) and particularly enjoy cool summer (Dfb) continental climates.

My all time favorite climates are in the humid continental zone such as Marquette, MI; Syracuse, NY; Caribou, ME, etc.

Some of the hot summer continentals are good too, I particularly like Minneapolis, Chicago, and Elkins,WV out of that lot.

Seasonal change, year round precipitation, longer shoulder seasons, a mild summer and snowy winters are what I look for in a climate.
There are some Quebec climates that have what you describe....in the Gaspe Peninsula, Matane, Rimouski...
also along the “north shore” ...Baie Comeau, Sept Iles.

I could handle a warmer subarctic climate like Whitehorse, or Atlin, BC...
but I prefer continental...it’s what I’m used to Toronto area is ok...Lethbridge-Medicine Hat is not bad either
though too big temp swings...their “averages” are good...Bow Island, halfway between is the best climate
in Alberta...summer as warm as Medicine Hat, winter almost as mild as Lethbridge, almost 1 degree C
warmer than both.

Interior BC is the best ....except for forest fire smoke they seem to get almost every summer.

Continental, specifically a Dfa that is significantly inside both the "D" and "a" zones.

Subarctic. I work in and love Anchorage, Alaska.

Both climate types are horrific but continental is better as at least you have a longer growing season.

Continental climates are better due to being warmer overall, but overall they're mediocre. Subarctic climates all suck horribly.

It's weird that your poll doesn't have an option for people who like continental climates, like myself. I like Dfa climates with winters on the milder end.
