I didn't see any threads about what head of NOAA said: 5G deployment could set weather forecasts back 40 years.
The wireless industry denies it.
So, what you guys think?
Appears issue would be with 5g signals using the 24Ghz band that has a signal bleed over allowance that could interfere with signals in the 23.6-24Ghz frequency which is used to detect water vapor which feeds weather models and we look at from satellites. There is a wider range of signals that 5G can use though so wouldn't be 5g itself but just where signals use that particular frequency spectrum. I don't know what frequencies the carriers plan to use or the equipment they'll use though. So I guess just depends on if or how much carriers deploy at that frequency on if will affect or not or how much.
