short lived cold snap coming before weekend warmth. strong wind but bad timing means no colder than 30°F in NYC

Northampton, 18°F is slightly above the daily min there but that's chilly for a night that's not calm and no radiational cooling. high of only 25°F there

So the Euro IS showing a cold pattern for the last 10 or so days of January for the eastern 2/3rds. The big question is how cold does it come with snow, and most importantly is it going to hang around for the rest of winter?

Another pleasant day here in Fort Worth Texas, highs are forecast to reach the mid 60’s today according to the national weather service’s forecast. Temperatures could even be flirting with or reach the lower 70’s tomorrow and Friday before much cooler air arrives for my last full day down here (Saturday), back in Indianapolis area, after a seasonably cold day today with highs in the 30’s, much milder weather arrives ahead of the next storm system. Heavy rain and a few thunderstorms are a pretty good bet starting late Thursday and lasting through Saturday night.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but when it snows in Seattle, they can't plow the 5, because of the "botts dots" lane lines, right? (Plow would rip them up)

You live in a Cfa climate so that can be expected for your location. Even diehard Continental climate (Dfa) Indy is forecast to be around 60 degrees on Saturday......

Trends are becoming more evident that cold air will infiltrate the eastern 2/3rds in about 10 days. Let's see if we can get a repeat of Feb 2015 LOL
