Gero is sorta OK... windy bastard of a place, but..... you drive down the coast road towards Perth and the trees grow on a 45* angle because of the wind.

Sounds nasty, I hate persistent strong winds. So annoying and tends to stunt/burn plant growth so everything looks battered and tattered.

It's one of the things I noticed about the coast of FNQ compared to South Africa and Europe - none of that wind burned look and proper trees grow right down to the water.

Oh. I thought the west coast was more calmer and that the southeast had the most severe winds.

Geraldton is D- climate. It's too warm gear-round, and I hate meditteranean pattern in climates.

It isn't very pronounced here though. Perth has a more pronounced Med pattern with very wet winters. Beirut as well.

Geraldton is actually a pretty good climate by WA standards.....windy place but, straight off the Indian Ocean with no land until Madagascar and Africa. Gets the odd heatwave conditions, but never gets cold in the winter months. A modified somewhat Med climate.
