Bellingham's airport just tied its all-time June record of 93F. Dew point is 69F.

SeaTac has reached 97F, breaking their June record of 96F. And we're just getting started.

Wowww, Chilliwack BC, a bedroom community of Vancouver, already at 106F/41C. Handily beats the all time record there and it’s not even 3pm, nor the hottest day of the heat wave.

I predict an Air conditioning installation frenzy in the PNW over the next year!

Lots of record highs in Alberta and BC yesterday. Expect more records today, tomorrow, Monday, and for the rest of the week.

Here in Victoria, the 1400h temperature is 33.5°C which equals the June record. Surely the June record will be gone today and the all-time record of 36.3°C could also fall today. As above, if it doesn't fall today then it likely will Sunday and Monday.

At 1400h Lytton is at 41.0°C. The all-time Canadian record is in serious jeopardy, if not today then in the next 72 hours.

Incredible stuff. There are no words.

I feel like the hottest part of the day is always right around 5pm here. Weird that Olympia and Seattle both have the same temp (96 atm). Seattle is always cooler in summer by quite a few degrees.

It's not exactly common for wells to run dry around here, but it does happen on occasion. Folks that have low production wells usually put a cistern in for extra water storage. And a little more fire protection in the summer.

What's the source for that? Because EC says it's "only" 38°C in Chilliwack.

Edit: 40.6°C at Cultus Lake which is near Chilliwack--perhaps that's what you're referring to?

Huh. Just my iPhone weather app, which uses The Weather Channel. Would be weird if they chose a station outside the city but could be cultus lake I guess.
