Thats right mate. I cant remember (even though I am not that old) the last time we saw a very active storm season hear from Spring till Winter. It has been just southwest airstream events... we need more troughs and moisture infeeds from the north.... so lets hope so mate... Kepp you updated with that guy etc...
The new climate outlook is due in the next few days...I'm eagerly awaiting...
THe last real proper storm we got in Melb was December 2002. That was a "keeper" so to say. Sure we got storms since then but they've all beeing your typical garden variety events, in other words 1 lightning strike a minute and the whole thing is over in 10. But ofcourse I'm probably just in the wrong location Typcally the the western suburbs get ripper storms while we get the crumbs......
....Then comes the cold front afterwards with drizzle and cold gloom *BOOOOOOOOO*
Forecast still loooking good, they actually upgraded some of the temps ZOMGgoshh!!1!!1!
Tues: possible night shower
Wed: possible shower
Thurs: fine
Fri: fine, sunny
Sat: becoming cloudy
Sun: rain at times
Mon: mainly fine
Tues: mainly fine
Wed: fine, partly cloudy

I do remember one several years back. It was stuck here stalled for over 3 hours and I was amazed how long it lasted. It was a supercell and I was just so hyped up. I do agree that you are in the wrong spot. The western subs of Melbourne get heaps of storms, and by the time the get to the eastern ones there either dead or weakend heaps. We get our fair share here in the southwest, but of course I want more.... hehe...
Good on ya. TEmps upgraded. I am waiting too for the Climate Outlook. BTW, I am actually going to be getting in contact with the long-range forecaster for a detailed forecast for Vic and Melbourne. I will let you know via private message how I go.. I want be contacting him for a little while yet though.

the 19 is now replaced with 18. No big deal but tomorrow we'll see it replaced with 16, then 15 and so on. And yes in typical fashion more rain has been added to the forecast.
I'm surprised that this phenomenon doesn't have a nickname yet.
I'll call it the 'Melbourne smackdown'.
