Yeah, I actually think that our sunshine recorders are too weak, the US probably has it right..
I'm just thinking back to July 2013, with our days being about 16 hours long that's about 500 hours of sunshine possible for July.. 268 hours would be about 55% sunshine yet I clearly remember there being a 3 week period where it was sunny almost constantly because I got a good tan that month.. Something is definitely not right

When the data for that month first went up on the historic data page for Heathrow, it said 303 hours (and July 2006 was 302 hrs). They have been adjusted since then to bring them into line with pre-2005 C/S measurements.
WeatherOnline is pretty accurate for here too (the minimums are based on the airport though) & much better than the Malta Met Office forecasts. The independent Malta Weather (who run the weather station at Balzan) must use the same model source as WeatherOnline as their forecasts are identical...

Even I would probably be able to predict the correct temperatures for Malta. They look like averages rather than weather forecast.

Not really, certainly not the case for the last few months anyway. We normally have wet autumns & winters, but we have had hardly any rain at all. Also the average high for January is around 16C, we have temperatures currently around 20C...
Increasing cloudiness this morning. 30 percent chance of flurries. Wind north 30 km/h gusting to 50. Temperature falling to minus 18 this afternoon. Wind chill minus 29.
A warm week ahead, with a reasonable chance of rain mid week.
Weatheronline must use a standard latitude formula for UVI. They only ever show 8 or 9 as the highest, when days are like today are around the 13-14 level.
Meh, could be worse...seems a bit below average Unfortunately this is one of the most optimistic forecasts for my location, other forecasting outlets are predicting temps a few degrees warmer
I'm still infuriated seeing all that cold air up north
