I can say for a fact, that we got nothing that could be described as extreme, unless the idiot who wrote the article classifies cold, overcast and drizzle as "extreme". Melbourne missed out on anything exciting or newsworthy
Adelaide and Canberra on the other hand got huge storms, the "extreme" title is appropriate there.

Remember Melbourne dust storm in the 1980's and the temp. was 41 deg. it was horrendous.
