I am from Southwest Victoria (near Melbourne, Australia). It was a fine day today apart from some high cloud at times. The temperature reached to about 16 degrees. No rainfall.

An interesting time regarding weather approaching for Perth and Melbourne...

Cheers

You're fine with both threads. I think it's a great idea for you to start an "Aust." thread because there are a few of you here now.

I did say approaching... Best weather approaching for ages... Next week that is! Rain and thunderstorms possible, even a Northwest Cloudband could happen late next week!

Just check GFS: 7 day GFS model weather forecast of isobars and rain

It does not have the cloudband later next week, but the cut-off low it has will change. The upper trough early next week could provide good falls for western half of Victoria until Wednesday.

For today, it was mostly sunny also, with light winds. A little cloud developing this afternoon however, but remaining dry. Could see a light shower or two pass over tonight.

as an amatuer astronomer and good-weather liker, this is the worst possible news, especially after the 2 months of solid overcast we just endured.
