It was 106 in Eugene, OR yesterday. 106!! I never thought I'd see a day when it was actually cooler in Texas than it was in Oregon...

There's a dandy app at this site: NWS Mesonet Observations

It gives current temperature readings for a variety of stations. When you mouse over a recording station and click it, you can get a few hours to a few days of weather history by scrolling down the page.
The default takes you to the Portland area but you can move the map anywhere. Triple digit temperatures are the norm throughout the Puget Sound region. Even Bellingham is flirting with 100 degrees. I noticed a site about a mile or two north of downtown Kirkland that thinks it's 112 degrees!

We have a name for that kind of weather here in Phoenix: Spring.

That said, I do know that part of the country is not used to the heat like we are here. People really lived in Phoenix long before air conditioning. But since it inevitably comes, you get used to it. You learn how to cope with the heat, how to respect it. Folks in the NW don't have that benefit.

So I hope folks take some lessons: stay in the shade and drink LOTS and LOTS and LOTS of water, and avoid outdoor strenuous activity if possible. And PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not leave your pets or kids locked in cars while you run errands in the heat! Even here we get morons that do that. And watch out for pets, the elderly and very young who would be less tolerant of the heat.

Enjoy the sunshine and temperatures while they are there! Wait couple of weeks and the constant damp, cloudy & rainy days for months!

We have had great weather since May and we will have constant great weather until the beginning of October, so I don't know what you are talking about

This heat wave you are having is unbelievable. Currently in the Fort Worth, TX area it is 85 degrees. It's like Seattle and Texas decided to make some kind of trade.
