Las Palmas has the honour of being the 'best climate in the world'. What do you think?

Las Palmas de Gran Canaria - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I would rate it an A-. If there were thunderstorms it would be an A+++

January and February are 5 degrees too cold. The rest of the year is perfect temperature wise, but (for me) 58-69 is a bit too cold to be outside comfortably. Say what you want, this is me. On top of that, there is almost no precipitation, which is a bit of a bummer, I like the occasional thunderstorm also. I wouldn't mind it if it was sunny, but even with almost no precipitation, it only gets 2800 sunshine hours. Might seem like a lot, but much wetter places in the US get more than that. Miami gets around 3000 and we have 55 inches of rain. It seems like there would be too many 70-degree overcast/ mostly cloudy days and not enough really warm days over 80. It would get really boring after a while imo. If I wanted year-round room temperature and no rain, I would just stay inside.

B+

I'll give it a D since it looks like it would be at least comfortable. Seems like the sort of place where weather wouldn't even cross one's mind very often.

But too dry, warm, and very boring.

Decent. Lack of extremes. I think it deserves a C.

Temperatures are close to ideal. To be nitpicky, I'd prefer slightly cooler summer nights and perhaps a month of two with highs above 80°F.

But the lack of precipitation would be very monotonous. And I don't care for deserts much.

So, C. Most other deserts I'd give a D, but the temps are very nice.

I'd give this climate an A:

I'd give this one a C, mainly because I have many specific preferences, but it looks very comfortable, has decent precipitation, and tolerable sunshine levels.

I give it a B. Winters are very pleasant, however I would like warmer summer days of temps over 80. Summers a tad bit too cool. Also, I have a feeling the SST aren't very warm given the latitude. I would like SST over 75F in summer.

D-, very comfortable temps year-around, but extremely boring. This climate would just bore me to death.

Zzzzzz to live there, but great to visit I suppose for guaranteed warm/dry weather. Surprising their summers aren't a little warmer than they are. I give it a C.

C. Temps are good, but the rainfall totals are depressing. Good holiday climate though.

Funchal looks way better to me.
