I'm assuming that the OP is taking a shot at the global warming camp.

One cold winter doesn't kill the global warming argument. Just as one hot summer doesn't prove the global warming argument.

The fact is, if you ask most people if their weather is different now, then it used to be when they were young, they'll almost uniformly answer "Yes".

My Grandparents, for instance, can remember every winter in Northwest Tennessee as having snow. Not flurries mind you, snow, and lots of it. I can remember myself being little and seeing feet of snow in Tennessee.

How often does this happen today? It doesn't, and its very rare if it does.

Same way in Michigan. I moved there 5 years ago, and I was worried about the long cold winter. Everyone I meet there always said, "This winter is nothing, I remember when it was much worse when I was little".

Global warming isn't about the short term seasonal changes. Its about longterm change, decades and centuries of climate change. Its about dramatic swings in the weather. Cold one year, Hot the next. Its about weather pattern change, and that has happened, and everyone I have ever asked tells me that the weather pattern has changed where they are at.

This global warming buisness will freeze us all to death. Time for the libs to bring back the "New Ice Age" ploy of the early 1970s. People have already forgotten that one.

Yes, it has.

There's a thread on the LA forum right now with a pic of a snow covered Canoga Park High School in the 40's.

Needless to say that it doesn't happen too often.

Oh, my...

"there is a very real difference between weather (what we feel outside on any given day) and climate (the study of weather over a long period of time)."
