What are your association rules regarding garage sales? As I said before, we're moving to Canyon Trails in March and I want to have a garage sale shortly after we move in. Hopefully it will be a good way to meet our neighbors! I just wonder how that works in a gated community. I'm really looking forward to living there. The new Canyon Center is awesome!! The Publix is so nice and they're putting a Sushi Yama (I hope it's the same owners as the one in Boca) and a Alabama Joe's! I can't wait to get there. We picked all of our upgrades the other day and now I'm super excited. I don't know how I'm going to make it five months!

I wish you the best of luck with the move. Its a beautiful area. As far as garage sales are concerned, you would have to check with GL. I am in the Springs and we haven't taken control of the HOA yet, so I don't know the rule on that.

Default Canyon Trails

Hi there, I noticed your post about canyon trails and it caught my eye because my husband and I are seriously considering buying there. I also read hat you have 2 toddlers. I have 2 small children as well. Have you been to the sunset palms elementary school? I've heard mixed things about the middle school. Do you think it's somehing to be concerned about? Is the builder offering any kind of incentives? We are considering the Tobago model or maybe he 4 bedroom. Sorry for all of the questions, but it would be nice to get your opinion since you are moving there.

Thanks,

Diana

I live in the Springs and am very happy here. We have two children, one of whom attended Sunset Palms. It is a beautiful school and your children should love it. The middle school is Odyssey and although some people like to post on here how terrible it is, that is not the truth. Some people don't like it because it is diverse, but my child is thriving there. Absolutely no issues whatsoever ever. However, it may not be for everyone so there are alternatives. There are choice programs for different schools available and the opt out program. This information is available on the PBC School website.
As far as incentives for the Trails, you would have to check with GL. All of there communities are nice and it looks like the Trails is getting a huge clubhouse which is pretty cool. Good Luck with everything. One more thing, go to the schools and check them out for yourself. Form your own opinion about them.

Default Opt out question?

Hi There,

I am reading this thread and came across someone mentioning the opt out option available in the spring. Does anyone know where I can find this on the school districts website?

Thanks,

Your best bet is to call the district. Let me know if you still can't get the information and I will try for you.

We've lived in West Boynton (Hagen Ranch Rd. & Woolbright) for almost 3 years and we LOVE it! It is a convenient location and there are lots of young families around. There is plenty of shopping in the area - Target, numerous Publix stores, and it's just a short drive to Congress where you will find the BB mall, the movie theater, Michaels, Barnes & Noble, Marshall's, and many more as well as numerous restaurants. In my opinion, this a great area to raise kids. BTW, my sister and her family are moving to Canyon Trails this summer. It looks like it's going to be a beautiful community. Welcome to the area!

Smile Closing Soon!

How exciting that you will be closing soon! It sounds like a great community. Have you heard how the community activities are? I am also thinking about buying in either Canyon Springs or Canyon Trails. I am looking for a community with families with young children with lots of opportunities to meet other people.

They haven't started the clubhouse/activities center yet. It's supposed to start sometime in June. It's going to include a spray park for little ones, huge pool, a full time aerobics instructor, indoor gymnasium...lots of great stuff!! We have already met a bunch of our neighbors age group is in the 30's I would say, LOTS of toddlers and elementary age kids!! ALL of the neighbors we've met so far have been so friendly! It's going to be an amazing place for my kids to grow up!
