We are moving to Hobe Sound, from the south shore of MA and have a 1 year old and 8 year old, looking for neighborhoods/sub divisions with kids that attend schools nearby...our idea is that we have a neighborhood where kids can play together and the community is family friendly and active; block parties, christmas parties, bookclubs, etc...there were a lot of communities off Gomez St, like "Osprey Cove" but not certain it is populated with kids...I guess where to the kids that attend schools likely live in Hobe Sound?

You really ought to consider Jupiter instead. Hobe Sound has a fraction of the kids that Jupiter does. Communities like Abacoa have exactly what you are looking for.

Hobe Sound is a beautiful but very laid-back town. Osprey Cove and all of the the communities along Gomez appeal to boaters as most have access to public and or private docks. If you are looking for something with a lot of family and kid activity, Jupiter may be the way to go. There are a lot of communities that have the activities that you described in your post.

Hi -

We are moving down to FL from DE next week. We were considering Hobe Sound because my kids will be at The Pine School in the fall. But, we decided to buy in Jupiter instead b/c we, too, were looking for a more family friendly area. (We really liked a house in Hobe Sound, but the neighborhood was loaded with seasonal owners.)

Hope that helps. We did tons of research on the area before moving, so I'd be happy to help. Feel free to message me.

We are moving from DE to FL this week. We, too, were looking at Hobe Sound b/c my kids are going to The Pine School in the Fall. We had trouble finding a house we liked in a family friendly neighborhood. We opted for Jupiter (and the longer commute to school) in order to find a more family friendly area. I did lots of research and looked around a lot - so I'd be happy to help. Feel free to message me...
