To the OP, assuming that your job offer is in east Boca, I would rent right above Mizner Square and take Misters and Misses Unfriendly, Rude, and Snooty head on instead of cowering away from Them.

The hard way becomes the easy way: in the long run, you'll be a better person for it.

Then it will be time to buy.

Good Luck!

A would not recommend a young, single guy live in Boca.

Either WPB or downtown Fort Lauderdale.

I would rent and wait a year or so. Prices here are higher than 08 and should correct as prices have vastly outpaced wages. Florida is Boom/Bust.

If you like to party, then downtown West Palm Beach and rent at One City or Two City, absolutely beautiful women in all of South Florida. Great nightlife. I spent a few weeks in Santa Monica in June, so if you like that vibe it is very similar.

If you want a smaller place, then downtown Delray Beach in Pineapple Grove or South of Atlantic is very nice and classy. Boca nightlife is dead in your age group. However Boca is a very safe and nice area to live in, think Orange County. It borders Delray and is 15 miles from WPB.

Rents in both places are about 2k month for a 2/2 decent condo.

Rent for at least 6 months first. Put 1 of the 2 cars in a storage facility during this time.

Get as close to East Atlantic Ave as possible because that's where you'll be spending your evenings/nights at. That is one of the best areas in all of Florida for nightlife.

Delray to Boca is 10-15 minutes. Avoid West Boca Raton at all costs. It was all the rage 20 years ago, but now the traffic heading East towards I-95 is gridlock so people are trying to migrate back to the East. West Delray has the same issue, just not quite as bad as West Boca.

I'd look just North and South of Atlantic Ave in Delray in between Federal Hwy (aka US1) and I-95. Just off Linton Blvd would be optimal on the Southern side of Delray.

To get a 2 car garage, you'll need a townhouse, or single family home. I dont know of any apartments with 2 car garages in that area.
