So I've got two questions that are entirely unrelated but instead of posting two threads I figured - let's be green.

Anyway, the first one is what I'm most interested in. What is West Palm Beach like in the Summer? I am aware about humidity and the rain season, and keep hearing stories about 'snow birds' from the colder states leaving and everybody bordering up windows and doors as hurricane prevention... all of which makes me picture WPB as an almost deserted ghost town in the Summer months. But is is true?

So my questions to those who have lived there is - what is it like there in the Summer? Are there any people around? Is it still a fun place to visit? Do people go to the beach? Are all businesses open? Is it as seasonal as I fear or not so bad?

And now to on my second question, less important though it's something I'm curious about, anybody know what is happening with the Prism condo at 2601 N Flagler Drive? It seems deserted.

Seriously, does no one know what the weather is like in WPB in the Summer months? I didn't think this would be such a hard question...

I'm almost tempted to not answer, because of this response, but I'm a generally nice person, so here you go:

The weather is hot and humid with an almost daily thunderstorm. It's not abandoned in West Palm Beach in the summer, but there is definitely less traffic. Palm Beach looks like a ghost town, however. Except for the beach.

All the things you can do in the winter are still going on in the summer. Water sports, swimming, etc. is actually better in the summer, because the water is warmer. It's hot though. Make no mistake about it. Usually under 90 though, because of the breezes.

I have no idea what the Prism Condo is? Was it ever built?

Prism was never built, just vacant land and an abandoned sales office.

Thanks for the response - helpful. Don't intend to be rude but I would appreciate clarification - which part of that response prompted you not to initially want to answer, if I may ask. It was not my intention to come across as rude but to merely bump up a thread which, due to a number of responses to other threads, was under risk of being ignored. Thanks for being a nice person, I guess, but I just wonder.

Thanks, Native - I wrongly assumed the building at 2601 was the completed condo in some form but it instead hosts the Prism sales office, so thanks for that. And for all the others, there is some (now, I assume, out-dated) info here: http://www.prismwpb.com

Just came off as kind of demanding, lol

A lot of projects were slated for WPB that never quite made it off the ground. Kind of sad really. The "boom" did really help transform a lot of West Palm Beach, brought a lot of new ideas and architecture to a place that had been all but forgotten by many of the better designers, architects, etc.... but of course, it was unsustainable. From now on I think and hope growth will be a lot smarter.

West Palm Beach is delightful in summer. The beaches are wonderful, many good restaurants have special prices for lunch, traffic is easy, everybody is at ease, the snow birds are gone, there is a Sunfest, good theater for summer, it's humid and hot, but not as bad as New York city, and you always have the beach to go to.
