Wow, the point was completely missed. Nothing in my statement indicated that I was demanding special rights. It was to show that there are people with vouchers that are not just sitting back, doing nothing, purposely just living off the government assistance and showing no appreciation for what they've got because they didn't have to work for it. There are some that are working, trying to work their way to independence from needing help from government assistance. There are those who are just trying to do what they can for their families with just a little help until they get back on track and no longer need that assistance. Yes there are those who take advantage of it, but there are those who are using it for what it was actually intended for, to ASSIST while we work to be able to support our families.

"Government assistance" = Money from that comes from working tax payers.

"Government Assistance" makes it sound like the money's coming from some random unknown place.

People are very sensitive about having to work their butts off and give some of their earnings to random people. It's human nature.

How much of your money do you give to unknown people?

Don't get me wrong.. I get that life happens and some folks need short term help at times.

I am now convinced that the section 8 program is now being used to manipulate an area's demographics for votes. Everytime section 8 comes into a neighborhood, it literally changes within 6 months, and not for the better.
