Planning a trip to the West Palm Beach area soon. Can any locals recommend any good Thai and or seafood restaurants in the area which are not touristy and over priced. I am looking to see where the locals go for a decent meal. Thank you all in advance.

I ate at Thai Joe's at City Place (yes a touristy destination) but thought it was excellent! Comedy club is next door so we hit Thai Joe's before a show.

Yes, ThaiJo's pretty good. I *love* thai food and I've had a hard time finding a good restaurant (I'm so picky)! But this place is delicious plus it's in a great location. It's at City Place in downtown West Palm Beach. So much to do before and after dinner. Hope that helps.

If you want to try something more notable in South Florida say Cuban, I highly recommend Havana at the corner of Dixie and Forest Hill Blvd. They have some excellent seafood selections on their menu.

I also vote for Thai Joe's -- large portions, excellent fresh food.

There's a Thai place in Manalapan that is very good and has been there for years Thaiko

Welcome to Thaikyo

And the Old Key Lime House gets rave reviews and is constantly packed. I don't eat fish so I couldn't tell you, but this place is right on the water

My favorite is actually Bankok O'Cha on Palm Beach Lakes Blvd. The most flavorful Thai fried rice in the area, imo.

I second this. Thaijo's is very, very, bland.

My wife's daughter is ill and we were just looking for places to eat. What is the problem with asking about restaurants before coming to an area??????

Will any of these Thai joints light you up with heat? I've found it's hard in FL even when you ask.
