If you aren't from the Midwest, Northeast, or Northwest, you probably won't get this thread. If you are from one of these areas, you will completely understand.

Since moving to Florida two years ago, I've been dismayed by the horrible selection of beer down here.

A couple of weeks ago, I discovered the Corner Store on Southern Boulevard in West Palm Beach. I felt like I was in beer heaven. If you too have been desperately searching for a good beer selection in the area, check this place out. It has a very good selection of imported and microbrewery beer.

Does anyone know of other stores with a really good beer selection in Palm Beach County? PLEASE do not say "the grocery store." If that's your idea of a good selection, you've obviously never been in a beverage store in a Midwestern college town!

heh Total Wine has a great selection of everything. ABC isn't too bad either.

Second on Total Wine...It's a grocery store for beer, wine and spirits, and has a better selection than any Midwestern college town beverage store that I've been in (I went to college in the Midwest).

3rd on Total Wine, also World Market has a smaller selection but quite a few imports and micro brews you won't see at the typical place.

Whole Foods also has a good import section.

It looks like I am headed to Total Wine.

Thanks!

I went to school at Kent State. The beverage stores in Kent are amazing!

Part of the problem is Florida had a weird container law. Beers had to come in standard sizes so many of the micro brews and imports couldn't be sold here. At least we don't have that working against us now.

The corner store, on Southern, is supposed to close down sometime soon. Personally I never liked that place.

One thing weird about Florida is that all box wine, (I'm cheap) is only 3 litres.....in NY, they are all 5 litres......for the same price.....WHY??
