I am relocating for my job...and have 3 options for places to live. Can I get your opinion on location, safety, traffic, that type of thing. I'm in my 40's with a small dog...so that plays into it also. Has to be a dog friendly area and and walkable in the evening.

Job is in WBP off Okeechobee near Military Trail. The places are:

Courtyard at City Place (concerned about no green space for dog)
Rapolla on Flagler
Fiore in Palm Beach Gardens

Thanks everyone for your help. I've lived in ATL, CHI, Miami so know the good and bad about bigger cities so please no haters

When I lived in Cityplace, I had an 80 lb. dalmatian. We used to walk him across the street on the grass for Dreyfoos School of the Arts. Lots of people do the same.

Rapallo is near the intracoastal. Older building but nice views, safe area. Rapallo is a few blocks east of the dog park at Howard Park. Cityplace is just across the street from Howard Park (behind the convention center).

Fiore at the Gardens is a nice suburban apartment community in a nice safe area. But, it's not conducive to a walkable lifestyle.

Thank you so much...that really helps. I was concerned about City Place not having any grassy areas and wasn't sure if they allowed dogs at the school across the street. My dog is small but loves to be outdoors. Also, with Rapolla, altho the view is wonderful, again you have to walk on Flagler to get very little grass and isn't that a busy street?

Well, Rapallo does have a bit of grassy area immediately out front. I don't know anything about the dog policy is though. There's also a park like area just North of the Rapallo near the Norton Museum access that I see people in sometimes. Flagler is a relatively busy road, but there are sidewalks on either side.

As for Cityplace, I know that the school had a problem with dog people not cleaning up after their dogs. It is essentially public property though in front of the gates and fence, so I'm not sure what, if anything, they could do about it.

So for a new person in town...which area would you pick? Both are about the same distance from work so thats not an issue. Would I meet more people if I were at City Place? Is Rapolla more of an older crowd?

Cityplace has more potential people to meet in a more concentrated area. I think that both areas have a good mix of younger and older, though, because Rapallo is one of the more affordable Flagler condos to rent at, so it attracts younger professionals than the higher end buildings, and has some college students from PBA.

Cityplace is of course more convenient to walk to the supermarket, restaurants, clubs, etc.

People are correct that Cityplace is close to things but so is Fiore. Fiore is next to Downtown at the Gardens: Too Jays is a great restaurant, Whole Foods has prepared foods as well as a being a grocery store. The Yard House is a popular spot. The Gardens Mall is in your back yard. I-95 is right there so you have easy access. Embassy Suites on PGA has a very popular club. There are three or four very popular restaurants on the Intercoastal on PGA.

From Fiore the beaches in Juno are maybe 10 min. away. Abacoa - is 10 minutes away, they have the baseball stadium, a sellection of restaurants & bars. Once a month there is a car show. Scripps and the college are also right there.

There are many beaches between PBG and Jupiter, and if you like to fish, there are charter boats and drift boats.

There are sidewalks all around Fiore from A1A all the way over to Properity Farms Rd.

The marina at the corner of PGA and Prosperity has a couple nice restaurants, and Carmines is awesome. They have wonderful prepared foods and pastries.

If you want the nightlife of Clematis and Cityplace - you can be there in about 20 min.

I also think that Fiore is a safer area than downtown WPB.

They all are about the same rate but one includes cable. 2 are 1 bedrooms/1 bath and 1 is 2 bed/2 bath. I'm leaning towards Palm Beach Gardens apartment just so the dog can have some more grassy areas and I hear the area is really safe.
