Yeah, I hear what you're saying. They do seem to always do it on the Saturday before the 4th.

But I gotta say, I actually prefer that, because:

1) It's just easier to get other folks (like our family who doesn't live around here) to come out on a Saturday and make a happy day out of it, culminating with the fireworks.

2) It leaves the 4th open for us/others to go to other fireworks, including the national ones in DC or whatever.

Just to let everyone know:

Fireworks are back again this year at Sam Michaels Park, tomorrow! (Sat 6/30)

It's free, gates open at 5:00, fireworks usually end up starting around 9:20.

1102 Job Corps Rd, Shenandoah Junction WV 25442 - Kinda in between Harpers Ferry, Charles Town, and Shepherdstown, it's where the Mountain Heritage Arts & Crafts Festival is held twice a year.
(Uh, no alcohol / glass containers / firearms / pets.)

Default Redskins Mark Moseley

Redskins fans, there's an "event" at the Ranson Five Guys Tuesday 6/17 to raise money for the fireworks show:

Hey all you Redskin fans! Plan to head over to Five Guys in Ranson Tuesday, June 17 between 5 and 8 p.m. to support Jefferson County Fireworks at Spirit Night! A SPECIAL TREAT---Mark Moseley will be on hand to sign autographs! Come make a donation, eat some great food and mark your calendar for July 5th's Independence Day Event!!

Back in the day, Mark Moseley was one of the best kickers ever... and then the soccer-style kickers came over and obliterated all his records.

I think this has become my own personal forum.
Anyway, to anyone interested in Jeff.Co. fireworks this summer, here's the latest:

"We are scheduled for Friday, July 3 at Sam Michael's Park. Now the fundraising starts in earnest! We need to have our deposit in hand by March 1. Any and all donations are needed---nothing is too small. Donations can be made to Jefferson County Fireworks, PO Box 586 Harpers Ferry, WV 25425. Without everyone's help, we can't have the show!"
