I'm currently in looking at buying land in the Berkeley Springs area of West Virginia...Mostly as an investment, but potentially as a building lot. I do not know much about the area, but am looking to hear what people have to say about it. Any information would be great! Thanks!

I don't know about Berkeley Springs but I know a guy selling a 1.5 acre lot in Charles Town if you're interested.

Berkeley Springs is a nice little town. I would mostly consider an area where the old hippies hang out. I don't want to offend anyone but that is what it reminds me of kind of a yuppie type town. I don't think you would go wrong with the area. We have property in Paw Paw, 24 miles from Berkeley Springs.

I have been telling my clients to buy in WV and Shenandoah for a long time now. Just give it time and the investment will definitely pay off. If you have any investment financing questions feel free to email. It is a tricky market especially for non owner occupied property.

In Wv...non-residents pay double property taxes...sort of letting you know whats coming, if your saving some acerage for the kids living outside Wv...It's their 'Away Penalty for not staying here and working at the low paying jobs...Deed them a few acres and see what happens...
