How do you foresee the growth patterns in West Virginia (growth of Morgantown, population
influx in the Eastern Panhandle, shale developments, etc) changing the state's political, economic,
legal, and/or cultural climate in the coming decades? Please keep this thread thoughtful
and respectful in tone.

Reason: Typos
I believe there will be intense effort put in by special interests to maintain the status quo, but in the long run they will simply be overwhelmed by the magnitude of developments. We have been stuck in the quagmire produced by the state's localized stranglehold on politics, and the resulting corruption for a century. It can only get better.
As the northern and eastern regions take over economically and politically over time, one would hope that an overall higher regard for education, and a cooperative spirit will finally take hold in our state, reducing the presence of a clan mentality and enabling it to attain the progress its natural resources indicate it should be achieving. It will likely take decades to come about, but West Virginia might one day be brought kicking and screaming into 21st century prosperity. That will never happen as long as the current minions continue to hold sway in our state.
