I'm going to guess this is somewhere in the EP (I-81 reference), but it would really help to have some idea of the general location.

Winchester Ave exit 12 is off US 81 in Martinsburg, Berkeley County, Eastern Panhandle. To the east / south east Winchester Ave becomes Rt.9 towards Charles Town..

And those that thought Winchester Ave/Rt.11 was bad NOW..Whooo-weeee!

The EP continues to blow up! Pretty soon, Berkeley County will be more populated than Kanawha or Cabell

I know a lot of you aren't saying this, but, GOOD. I'm sick of driving to Hagerstown to go to the nearest Target Store or large book store. If the county kept up with the necessary infrastructure (which they probably won't), traffic congestion wouldn't be a big problem.

However, with gas prices skyrocketing the way they are, I'm glad there are some stores moving into the EP. I'll have to burn a lot less gas to get some things!!

Berkeley already has more than Cabell, it just passed it last year. While Kanawha is experiencing a slight decline in population, Berkeley would have to nearly double it's current population of around 100,000 to beat out Kanawha's population of around 190,000. I'm up for watching the show though if Berkeley would like to take on that challenge I'd love to see the EP grow and prosper more, I'd like to see Charleston do the same thing though.

Kanawha is a tad larger in size (geographically). In land are size I'll bet Kanawha is as big or bigger than Jefferson, Berkeley and parts of Morgan.. Hmm.. may have to look that one up..

Kanawha (my home county) is also losing population at an alarming rate. According to the census, Kanawha had 200,073 residents in 2000 and the latest estimates (2007) place the population at just over 191,000. Berkeley on the other hand has gone from 75,000 to 100,000 in that same time period. Although it will indeed nearly have to double in size there is a TON of development in the pipeline there, I would be shocked if it wasn't the largest county in the state by 2020. DC area sprawl is consuming everything within 100 miles of the city, Berkeley is no exception, last I heard they were even starting to build out into Morgan County!

Oh yeah.. Morgan is gaining due to Winchesters growth. Hampshire will grow as a result as well.

Regionally, the EP will surpass Kanawha and its' surrounds in relatively short order.

Don't fear though, gerrymandering will continue to provide Kanawha with a solid base for control, lol.

I just checked on here and Kanawha has a population density of 214 in 2005, compared to Berkeley's population density at 291 in 2005. Which I think paints a better picture since ThreeRun brought up the important fact of geographical size.
