It's right next to egg nog in supermarket and amish store dairy case. How is it different than egg nog? No spice?

Those ingredients for boiled custard sound an awfully lot like those for soft ice cream... a.k.a., "frozen custard".

As to manna, it's the origin of the phrase "manna from heaven", meaning a gift that appears from nowhere.

Ok anyone whose curiosity was piqued I just picked some up from Krogers. It tastes like liquified eclair filling the consistency of egg nog, and no spice. My friend from NC insists the boiled custard they make isn't to drink, it's a pudding they bake in ramekens so I got confoozled. Yeah I guess I was one of the idiots who needed directions. hahahahaa

Lil bit of creme de cacao, lil bit of brandy, lil bit of nutmeg I can hardly tell the difference except the strong vanilla flavor. My it's warm in here.
