Looking for information on the area. Hud apts shopping etc. Rehab thinking of sending my son there for training. So also information on the Rehab school [Web site links would be great folks!!] Thanks a million all
You should easily be able to find hud apts. Institute is really close, well actually runs into Dunbar. You can find really cheap housing there. I lived in Dunbar for 2 years after college in a 1 bedroom apartment by the post office and i was really able to save up some money in that time because the cost of living was so low.
Institute is pretty much WV State University, Rehab, and Bayer Cropscience Plant. Heading back towards Dunbar you will see a small neighborhood that boarders the college, then Shawnee Regional Park. It's a decent park, has an 18 hole golf course, swimming pool, basketball courts, ect.
Nitro is west of Institute, and is about 3 or 4 miles down the road. You should be able to find even cheaper housing there. Nitro is run down in sections, and the town is in major debt.
