Yesterday, on my way from the valley to Roanoke, VA to see the boy, I found myself coming up quickly on a slow moving vehicle.

As I got closer, I realized "I recognize those plates!" They were Michiganders!

They were also riding their brakes UP the mountain (as if 30mph isn't slow enough!).

I yelled "Damn flatlanders, get the hell out of my way" and passed them in a barely-legal move and sped off down the mountain.

I'm assimilating nicely.

No self-respecting WV policeman would ticket you for passing a flatlander going 30mph up-hill, while riding the brakes.

Oooh yeah. Justin likes to slaughter squirrels. Mmmmm gravy.

Edit: he says "I've got some on the front porch if you want to do it right now."

LOL!!

Even though Jefferson County isn't too hilly, some of the main roads are very windy with no shoulders - and they still have posted speeds of 55 mph!

When I first moved to WV, I was scared to drive on those roads. Now, heck, I've passed people on those same roads for driving the way I used to drive on them.

Retired Navy, surely you are not talking about that “read between the lines” finger are you? That is not how we great each other even if we are passing a flatlander going 30mph uphill! Poor things they just don’t know any better….
