Where is the WV Industrial Home for Youth? (Salem: crime, neighborhood)

I'm confused!

What county is the WV Industrial Home for Youth in? I can't tell if it's in Doddridge or Harrison County.

Is Industrial a town or a neighborhood/section in Salem, WV? I have 2 addresses: 7 Industrial Blvd., Industrial, WV and 15 Industrial Blvd., Salem, WV.

Does anyone know anything about this place? My Mom was placed there back in the 1950s. Apparently, she was a wild child - something I wish I knew back when I was a teenager and we had disagreements about what I was doing.

I'd love to get copies of Mom's records. By the time she married and I was born, she had cut off her family and I've never seen them. Mom died a few years ago and I found 2 of her sisters, thank goodness, and now I'm trying to piece together that part of her life.

As near as I can tell, the WVIHY is right on the border of Doddridge and Harrison Counties. In fact, I found a state police web page that mentioned a law the legislature passed that says, in essence, any crime committed there would be deemed to take place in Harrison Co. So maybe it actually straddles the border.

It appears that Industrial is just west of Salem; it could be that the county border actually separates the two.

Google is your friend. Try "West Virginia Industrial Home for Youth" as a search phrase; my search came back with 1.1 million hits. (That'll keep you busy for a couple of days.)

The place is was located in Salem,W.V,

It is actually located in Harrison Co. My husband works there. I'm not sure where the industrial part comes in b/c all i know is that is is located just near downtown salem.
