There is Tutor time in Pleasantville, a friend uses them and is happy. My kids have been attending Young Wonders in Briarcliff for 5 years now, I am very happy.
My son is finishing up pre-K at Tutor Time and it has been a great program for him. They take infants through pre-K, it's a full day program from I believe 7:30 am - 6:30 pm, and for commuting parents it is directly across the street from the train station so it could not be more convenient.
I know a lot of people who love All Aboard in Valhalla. There is also a Bright Horizons in Armonk that is a beautiful setting and the parents there seemed happy, although when I observed there, some of the classes had wonderful, mature caregivers and some others had young ones that I wasn't crazy about how they interacted with the kids (I would have only chosed that place if I could have selected which room my child would go to). I decided to go with a nanny, so I can't speak from personal experience.
We use TimberRidge (Bright Horizons) in Armonk and love it. Have had experience with infant, toddler, ps, and prek rooms and have had only positive experiences.
I'm not sure of your financial situation, but my family has a modest income and we use the Ossining Children's Center. Program opens at 7 or 7:30 until 6. I'm impressed with both the staff and their philosophy of learning being a fun experience. It is now summer program, and every week there is a field trip planned; to zoo or a museum, something educational, as well as weekly trips to parks in Westchester and lakes for swimming.
They definitely want kids from poorer families not to be left behind. I think they are great!!
