I read that the population of Larchmont shrunk 10% since the last census - the largest drop in the county. Anyone have any idea why? The home prices don't seem to reflect this fact, but still it is concerning since we are considering a house there.

Do you mean that in the 2010 census it was 10% fewer people than in the 2000 one or do you mean that since 2010 they estimate that it's shrunk 10%?

From what I interpreted, from the last census in 2000 to 2010, it shrunk 10%.

Quite a few places in southern Westchester shrunk....Yonkers, Mt. Vernon, and to use something closer in demographics to Larchmont, Scarsdale shrunk 4%.....so maybe it does make sense.
