I live in Armonk but probably would have preferred Bedford or Katonah. Everyone knows your business in Armonk, its annoying. Then again, parts of Armonk have a Bedford address, it blends together. Parts of Yorktown are nice but some areas remind me of Rockland County.

Yorktown is where cops and teachers live.
Also has a huge blue collar population, which is a huge plus.
Tons of generationals who never left the area who inherit their parent's house.
Lower proportion of college educated professionals.

Yorktown also has the highest proportion of Italians.
If you're Italian, Yorktown is like Little Italy North!
Another huge plus if you love Italians and their culture!

Sounds like a diverse community. Does there tend to be ideological differences among residents when it comes to things like say, raising taxes to fund school enhancements? I wonder if the varying demographic ever causes conflicts within the community. Or maybe the smaller neighborhoods within the large town are independently reflective of their demographic?
