I am going to move to northern westchester but work in NYC.
I cannot stand the city so I want to live as far as possible from the city and still be able to commute in.
does anyone currently commute from north salem to NYC every day? Is it possible to do?
Purdys station and the metro north moves pretty quick so it seems like only a few extra minutes to go to a significantly more rural area.
Also I think I can get more house for my money in north salem than in bedford.
I will probably rent for 2 years until I have saved enough to buy a house.
North salem seems to have less community feel from what I have seen on google maps.
I think towns that have more community feel have a central villiage green like bedford has, an from google maps it looks like north salem is more scattered and has less of a villiage feel.
I am not sure what the fishing is like in bedford or in north salem, but the road biking looks better in north salem.
what town would you choose if you are looking for country living but still have to go to work in NYC.
