I don't know a ton about the subject, and I don't think there's a lot of information. However, I have noticed that many of the reports of heroin have been concentrated in the far southern section of harrison. I've also heard from some that there is an issue in Eastchester and I know that there is a minor problem in Mamaroneck, particularly close to the harrison border. This would suggest that heroin is primarily hitting some of the heavily blue collar Italian sections of southern Westchester as opposed to the more standard upscale suburbs (Scarsdale, Rye, Larchmont). My guess is that the problem is smaller farther north and west, but this may be a biased assumption as I live in Southeast Westchester and see primarily news related to this area If your considering moving here, I wouldn't worry too much about the heroin - it's mostly a silent epidemic and shouldn't affect you.
And everyone knows that those "blue-collar Italians" are famous for heroin use. Puh-leeze.
I wasn't saying this is a stereotype, nor that this issue has a precedent in the community. I was simply stating what seemed to be a pattern. A couple weeks ago 2 people died in harrison and 4 got arrested. Someone else died 6 months ago in harrison.
In Massachusetts, there is a similar problem with heroin, though far more severe. The hardest hit communities are in the blue collar Irish and Italian south shore, which may suggest that there is a pattern forming.
Regardless, there are drugs everywhere, from the worst inner cities to the richest suburbs. I know Xanax and other prescription drugs are huge where I am from. One of the local high schools I believe had a Xanax death recently.

Drug addictions affect everyone and the dealers are more then happy to turn your little suburban bubble into addict town USA because Westchester is affluent and can afford what they are pushing.
That silent epidemic could easily affect you when it winds up being your kid, brother or sister, husband or wife who winds up losing the battle and eventually his/her life.
