I am moving to Westchester County and will be taking the train into Grand Central Station on an almost daily basis to commute to work. Is it possible to get a parking permit at the Cortlandt train station? What are my other options? I've heard about the waiting list at Croton for non-residents and I believe there is a similar non-resident pass at Peekskill but I am not sure what the situation is at Cortlandt. Please let me know. Thank you!

You can get a train parking permit for Cortlandt online. Its cheap, about $115 for 3 months. Much cheaper than croton for non-residents ($90 per month). Croton is a much better station with far more train options, but it is a lot of money and a wait for the pass. Pekskill passes are impossible to get. I was on the list for years before I switched jobs and did not need one. But they have pay meters if you need to use it.
The parking pass for Cortlandt is cheaper than Croton as you will not get a resident discount.
Personally, when we moved up to Cortlandt, my wife was originally parking in Croton, but because of the heavier traffic, it can be more difficult to get out of the lot when you get off the train after work. Yes, there are more options at Croton, but for the regular commuter, having a train available every 30 minutes is fine. We applied for the Cortlandt parking pass and got it almost immediately.
(BTW, we are in the Watch Hill / Washington St area)
Thank you both so much for your responses. I do think we will take the train from Cortlandt. Where do I apply online for the permit? I tried searching the town website but could not find anything. Any help/direction is much appreciated!
