Rather than bizarrely laughing out loud, you should consider learning how to write basic English before pontificating about education.

I have to cause you are not getting the point, sweetie. I had social justice warriors progressive disguised as teachers almost every single freaking day lecturing all of us about their Socialism utopia how we can all get all kind of free stuff and sadly, I, along with my fellow classmates got a lousy education.

The quality of their diction has no reflection on the truth that they wrote, Kindergarten should be starting the process teaching a child to function and succeed with structure something too many are entering school without.

On the topic of education, you really need some more before you attempt to write sentences in public; you are just embarrassing yourself.

I doubt there is a Westchester school system without homework. It is a fairly wealthy area which means the most people are successful and want their children to be successful - i.e. acceptance to top ten colleges. This means homework and teaching to standardized tests. The ability to follow instructions, complete assignment at home without adult supervision and competitiveness are all keys to future successes.

Personally, I never thought hours of homework was productive for my children. Can't say enough about the importance of recess either.

What you want seems to be more inline with Montessori schools. Private education is probably the answer for you.

We don't pay 40k property tax to send our kids to just chill out in school. We prefer that they actually learn.

The Early Childhood Center at Sarah Lawrence College is progressive. It’s not public, but pretty affordable as far private schools go. Unfortunately it only goes through first grade, sometimes second, if there’s space. My daughter has been there since she’s 3 and is currently in 2nd grade. We could not have picked a better school to send her to. She has grown and learned so much while there. There is no homework, generous outside time and child-led. When you walk into the classroom you can feel the energy. They become lifelong learners from being in such a nurturing environment. The depth of knowledge she has attained while there is unlike anything I have seen from friends and family in public schools. I wish all schools would adopt this education model.

IMO, alot of this expensive learning is just cramming up on useless facts and data that no adult ever uses/needs. In fact, one could argue that this learning just makes them social outcasts.. There has to be balance, which is what makes this so hard to say which school is "best"...

There's not so much fact learning compared to 20 years back. Its more analysis, comprehension, evidence-supported reasoning/argument, and learning concepts & then applying them.

Are you talking from present day experience or are you talking from what you think NYS schooling is?
