Mod cut I would like advice on finding some professionals to help me do that and advice on renting in general.

I cannot find ANY info online on realtors who deal with rentals in Northern Westchester, or property management companies in the area. Hence my need to ask here.

I'd appreciate any input.

I would also like to know whether it's easier to rent a house furnished or unfurnished. Mod cut

Please remember: no recommendation of realtors/property managers in the threads.

I think all the big agencies do rentals too. On many sites you can search for rental properties. There has been a big surge of rentals in the last year (as houses take longer to sell), but prices seem to have actually gone up a bit (as more would-be buyers rent first, I assume). A neighbor of ours moved out of state a few months ago and instead of trying to sell the house in this market they decided to rent it out. They asked what seemed like a crazy amount (over 6K/month) but they found a renter pretty quickly.

Default Thanks for the reply

I'm glad to hear that renting seems doable. When I tried to look for local rentals online to compare with, all I got was NYC apts.

Should I just call the local offices of the big realtors? There aren't that many of them and I worry that the average agent wouldn't want to handle a rental as the $$ is smaller. I just wish I knew where to look. Is it also okay to call realtors/managers over the border in CT? There seem to be more there, but I wonder if the laws/licensing are different as it's a different state.

I can understand why realtors can't be rec'd here as they'd probably just recommend themselves all day. Perhaps someone could suggest the correct terms for me to google on to find the right people? Or a professional organization I could contact to get a directory?

Any more advice much appreciated.

Best bet is to walk on over to your local realtor.

They can give you an up-to-date list and tell you more information than they usually publish on-line.

Because rentals tend to have small commissions, I would suggest that you find a newer "hungry" agent to help you... any of the Realtors should be able to help you with your search.... good luck Mod cut
