Playland in the 1960's question (rating, golf, place)

Hi all,
I grew up in the mid 1950's and 1960's and Playland was a favorite spot for me. My Dad took me there a lot. I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on a particular memory of that place and time? It was probably around 1965 and there was (and still is) this game room right on the boardwalk just to the right of the miniature golf area. It looks directly out on to the beach. The games and amusements have changed over the years. When I was a kid in 1965, there were lots of pinball machines, skee ball, vibrating foot massage and weight machines and machines that would test your grip strength etc.

I remember a very unusual attraction in there. It was this large, chunky wooden "club" type chair made of what appeared to be plywood. It was very brightly painted and had this elevated solid red round disk right where you would sit. There were no instructions, just a slot for you to put a quarter. You were supposed to sit there...put in your quarter and then I guess "see what happens".

I was about nine or ten years old at the time and too scared to try it. My Dad would never try it for me either. Does anyone remember this giant chair and know what would happen if you fed it your quarter?
