In October, my husband and I are taking a scouting trip in our truck camper, doing a first check of places to which we might want to relocate. Asheville is at the top of our list.
We'd like to stay in a campground in Asheville that's (1) in (or as close as possible to) a residential areas that's a safe neighborhood, and (2) be clean and pleasant to stay for a week or two.
We've found 3 campgrounds in Asheville. French Broad River Campground looks great -- sites on the River -- but seems a distance from residential areas. Asheville Bear Creek RV Park (81 South Bear Creek Road) and Wilson's Riverfront RV Park (225 Amboy Road) both look like they're more in residential areas of the city.
Can anyone provide feedback on these campgrounds? Is each of them (1) in a residential area (2) that's safe? Do they have good reputations? Does any have more of a feel of the city than the others?
