What would like to see built/developed here in the Asheville area? Let's try and keep it positive. This is not meant to be a bash-fest of Asheville.

My contribution. I'd love to see a bigger zoo and a really cool Science Museum.

And you????

A plant or business that hires people and pays a living wage. Tourism creates a lot of jobs, which is a good thing as people need 2 or 3 of them to earn enough to live here.

That's a given.

I just wanted to know what kind of "fun" things you'd like to see here. The idea is to search your mind for something that you'd really like to do on a regular basis here in Asheville - Like a really cool water park. Now THAT I could go for (except in February - LOL)

There's suppose to be a "really cool science" museum being built called momentum, land has been cleared but nothing else is going on. The health adventure, who is heading it up, is going bankrupt or at least close to it and trying to keep it hush hush. Last rumor I heard was that mission hospital was going to try and buy it since mission has so much invested in the health adventure.

I would love love love to have a trader joe's here. Earthfare is so damn expensive these days.

We need more driving ranges; there's only one in the entire city.

I'd also like to see more sidewalks for pedestrians and lanes for bikers.

Do you feel like taking a short drive? There is a driving range in Fletcher right on 25 across from GB Shoes. There's one on Dana Road in Hendersonville. There's also one on Howard's Gap Road near Fletcher town Hall side. There's also one at Broadmoor (near the airport). Apparently my 'hood likes its golf. LOL But it would be nice, I'm sure, for the golfers in A'villle to be able to pop over for a quick round.

I agree, would love to see more bike lanes and sidewalks. Bike lanes make good sense all the way around

Over here in Waynesville, we could use any of those stores/companies that were mentioned...
Ingles, et al, here locally, is 3rd world, imo.

Ibid for AshevilleNative's wish for some employment opportunities in western NC, that doesn't
equal "tourism" or "construction", and that pays more than 10-12 bucks an hour.
GL, mD
