We'd like to spend a month , give or take, in Hickory to find out if we would fit in. As my mother will be with us, staying in a hotel room/suite would not really work.
Have tried vrbo.com but not many choices in Hickory or in our price range - $1000/month.
Does anyone know of a furnished, short-term rental in a safe area? Surrounding communities would be fine.
Housesitting while owners are on holiday would work as would a house that is for sale but still furnished. As our home is on the market, we are familiar with keeping the place spiffied up for showings.
We are a recently retired couple--husband from USAF and Cirrus Design (build airplanes with parachutes) and wife from MN State Vocational Rehabilitation services. We have references who will vouch for us.
