Merlefest 4 day pass is $140.00 if you buy your tickets by tomorrow. Some folks are saying this is the best year yet. The dates are April 28,29,30, & May 1. You can go for just one day if that is all you can do. Check the website to see who's is playing on what days.
Here is a sample of just a few of performing artists. Playing Thursday is Wayne Henderson, who is considered to be the best guitar maker in the world. He made a guitar for Eric Clapton, or so I heard. Randy Travis plays Thursday.
On Friday, Sam Bush, John Cowan, The Doobie Brothers, Yes! The Doobies!
Jerry Douglas featuring Omar Hakin and Viktor Krauss. The Waybacks, a personal favorite.
Saturday, Lyle Lovett performs Saturday, and Robert Plant and the Band of Joy plays Sunday.
And of course our National Treasure, Doc Watson, will be performing, Fri, Sat, and Sunday.
This is a wonderful family music festival and last year I had a blast. This is a yearly fund raiser for the schools of Wilkesboro.
