My partner is a Canadian, we spend 6 months US, 6 months Canada, is there any way I can get health care coverage, at what cost?
Any information appreciated.

You can do what many Americans do - purchase an individual plan for yourself from one of the larger companies like Blue Cross/Blue Shield.

If you take a high deductible (say $5000) you'd mostly have to pay for any regular care you get out of pocket. But if you were to need major surgery of have a terrible accident it would be worth it. Sure they wouldn't pay the first $5000 because of your deductible, but something major like surgery could easily cost $25,000. A plan with a high deductible can cost from $250 and upwards a month, depending on your current general health. Best of luck!

If you are pretty healthy try a BC/BS Health Savings Account (HSA). It's more of a major medical type of insurance, the premiums a usually lower, you get a few perks but the down side is that you will pay more out of pocket for each medical visit.
