We are heading to The mountains of North Carolina this summer( from Fl) to vacation with 3 kids ( 2,5,11) We are looking for a small cabin or rv resort with cabins) Our activities would be hiking with the 11 year old, Cherokee with the kids, white water rafting and husband wants to golf. We are thinking of Bryson city.
In the future ( 5 years) we would like to relocate to NC,I will be teaching and my husband is an electrician. Where should we look while we are "up there"??
I am open to rural living and work in a bigger are or live and work in rural would be great!! One requirement is good school system and cooler than Florida summers
Thanks for the help!!!
You can check out VRBO.com for cabin rentals. There's tons to see and do in WNC. Have you Googled the things you're looking to do?
Right now, jobs are very hard to come by. Teaching jobs pretty much everywhere is beyond difficult. I know people who've had their master's for 3 years and have been looking for a teaching job since they finished their bachelor's degree. It's a VERY tough field currently. No one knows what things will be like in 5 years. Could be better. Could be worse (God I hope NOT!).
