rewatching this movie - seen it maybe 50 times. Reminds me so much of my mama and daddy and their way of life and their ancestors way of life. Interestingly enough - this film was filmed in Romania.

I just love the love story between Inman and Ada. And the people Inman meets on his journey back home to see Ada. I love Sally and Esco Swinger. Ruby Tewes <3 and her love for Georgia.

I love the way Ada loves to play the piano and the way Inman was plowing her field that day.

I love this movie!!!! <3 Anyone else love this movie?

Apparently the fact that the film makers chose to film this in Romania instead of nc was a wake up call to the NC film industry.

Now they are trying their hardest to get people here. Case in point; the hunger games. Just thought I'd share.

I think they chose Romania because it was a location that closely resembled the area back in the late 1800s.

I do think it should be a wakeup call, as well, to the money hungry developers that want to rape the land. Makes me sad.

Still watching the movie - I just love Inman - right now he is with the mountain woman that killed her beloved goat to feed him and he is talking about trying to get back to Ada. <3

I read the book when it was first published - IMO, the book is much, MUCH better than the film. Great book. Very disappointed with the movie (see reviews from major critics). Miscast, poor settings, and lackluster direction. This is a book that deserved a great director. Lastly, when filming about Cold Mountain, please shoot in North Carolina.

According to this 2004 article, the art director for the movie loved North Carolina.
