Hi,
Narrowing down the search for where to finally settle and will be visiting soon to view some properties.
From internet research I have drawn the conclusion that AC Reynolds schools may be best for us. Based on comments comparing to Asheville High?? correct me if this is not correct!
Haw Creek seems to be about the nearest to downtown that is in the catchment for AC Reynolds. Plus it is not too cookie cutter and we may get more space for our money?
So, any negatives, streets to avoid or positives about this area? Any other suggestions for areas that catch the best schools, but is near downtown and where you can get some space for your money? We want peaceful, but other families around, perhaps a park where the kids can go play.
We would have considered other neighborhoods but worry about what I've read about Asheville High??

Reynolds is a good school, one of the better in the county.

Haw Creek is great, have lived there most of my life, though currently in north Asheville , but daughter and grandsons live in Haw Creek. North Asheville is too over run with status seekers, it's not really a neighborhood. But don't have to worry about Asheville HS, as we are beyond those years.

Negatives in Haw Creek, I wouldn't want to be right up against Spruce Hill (subsidized housing, but probably one of the better in the city) or Haw Creek Mews, a cookie cutter sardine can density apartment complex.
