Hello everyone! Is anyone familiar with these Interstate roads heading from Asheville to Nantahala Outdoor Center? I will be driving monday morning (6am) towards Mountain Rest, SC and Google maps offered me 3 different routes. They all estimate a 2 hour drive but being that I've never driven on any of these roads I wanted an opinion from some of the locals. In terms of safety and scenery which route should I take? Thank you to all who take the time and give me suggestions! I get nervous driving in unknown territory

I'm confused. Are you driving to NOC from Asheville NC or from Mountain Rest SC? From Asheville, the choice is obvious: take I-40 to US74. The detour on US 64 through Brevard, Highlands, and Cashiers will take more than twice as long and that is an extremely curvy road.
