Y'all are getting big time. I heard the Olive Garden was coming to Boone, but decided not to because of some water problems where they wanted to build it. Don't know if true or not. You're lucky.

We'll see if Boone gets an Olive Garden, I'm just glad Darden made an official announcement and have actually started construction! I have a feeling they are going to do well in Wilkesboro.

A Ruby Tuesday has been there for a few years; it's success seems to have signaled that other chain restaurants might try the venture.

Personally, I'm glad that a Chik-fil-A opened Nothing like heading toward home after a day of motorcycle riding up in the mountains and stopping off for a 12 pack (or two ) of nuggets.

Wait, I'm confused. Is Wilkesboro getting a Red Lobster or an Olive Garden? Or is it getting both?

Both. They will be in between Carolina West and Sonic on 421.

Should have picked Boone. Looks like when I go to App I'll be driving down 421 for my Olive Garden fix.

Olive Garden had bought land on 321 out past walmart a few years back but the mixed beverage ban at the time nixed the plan. There was also a plan to build one on the site of those no-tell Patel motels near Blockbuster where that kid died a couple years ago; not sure what happened to that. Then again with Casa Rustica there's really no need for Olive Garden.
