Hey everyone

So my wife and I are heading to WNC next week to see if its what we are looking for. I was just wondering if there's any good areas to ride ATVs. Up here in Northern NH we have Ride the Wilds. Its over 1000 miles of connected trails. In Berlin you can ride ATVs and side by sides in the street most of the year. Just wondering if there's anything. Like this in WNC so we can see the area around it.

Thanks Tim

Can't advise on ATV "friendly towns" per se. But a quick Google search turned up this link:

North Carolina ATV/4X4 Trails, Western North Carolina Mountain ATV Trails

I saw that. A lot of it is in Telico which has been closed down.

Most of the public lands in WNC is National Forest land, either the Nantahala NF or Pisgah NF, their website with info about "OHV" Off Highway Vehicles (that's what the feds called them). There are also many State Parks....visit their website: ncparks.gov
