We stayed in Bryson City last November and absolutely loved it, it reminded us of our hometown back in South Carolina and we've decided to go back this November.

When we were there we went to the Road to Nowhere, Fontana Dam, Waynesville, road the train to Dillsboro. We mostly just road around looking at the view, we're from near Myrtle Beach and I really can't stand a tourist-y type of town so we tried to steer clear of those mostly. I didn't really feel like Bryson City was one of those places.

I'm looking for things to see/do when we go back again in November. Small towns that are off the beaten path, and just cool things to see that aren't really well known.

I understand if you locals don't want to give up your secret spots, there are many places down here that I would never tell an out-of-towner because I want to keep them to myself. But if you have some cool place you would like to share I'm all ears and would appreciate it.

Thank you!

Few of us will keep a great place 'secret'.

Much to do and see here in western NC...you didn't say when in November, but leaf peepers peel off by mid Nov, days are warm to reasonable, nights are cool to cold, and Nov in western NC is a fine time to be here, imo.
